Scope and Contents
This sub-series consists of 5 files containing correspondence and related material with Norman Dott regarding his work on hypothermia and cerebral cooling, dated 1961-1962. This resulted from Dott's visit to Oslo to study techniques developed by Professor K. Kristiansen, in December 1960, see Coll-32/E.24. Dott envisaged further work on this subject during his retirement and he presented a provisional paper on unfinished work in May 1961, at the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (S.B.N.S.) meeting in Copenhagen, see Coll-32/F.86. The correspondence in the sub-series deals with research applications, staff, equipment experimental and surgical results, and the location of Dott's proposed work.
