Scope and Contents

Contains extensive autograph manuscript drafts of texts, with cancels, revisions and additions, with illustrative plates and maps:
1. 'On the Geology of some parts of Madeira' by Sir Charles Lyell. Notes on text about Las Palmas, Canary Islands. Index to Notebook 195.
2. Original packaging 'Original Geological MS Notes of Sir Charles Lyell (Lady Lyell preserved these - as she was asked at times for autographs, and as time advances, they may be still more valuable)'. Portion of the working manuscript for 'The Antiquity of Man'.
