At the front of the notebook, there are notes on electricity and magnetism, perhaps for lectures during First World War. In the middle, there is a sequence of pages (some numbered) of experiments on 'Oscillator with Leaking Grid Condenser', at Cambridge, 1920-21 (not all in Appleton's hand). At the rear of the notebook, there are press-cuttings on valves, electricity, etc., mainly during the First World War.
