Biographical / Historical
Sir Francis Chantrey was an English sculptor who produced a celebrated bust of Sir Walter Scott. The original one in plaster was made 1820, and a further marble version was made in 1828. The most marble replica was completed in 1821 and is at Abbotsford.
Lady Frances Shelley was one of the principal English diarists of the George III period and an acquaintance of the Scotts.

Seven lines on a bifolium with integral address panel, wax seal and postal markings. Mounted and bound in modern boards.
