Scope and Contents

One of the most simple and universally esteemed among the numerous Persian poems dealing with the love of Laylá va Majnūn, by Mawlānā 'Abd-allāh, poetically styled "Hātifī," a nephew of the celebrated Persian poet, scholar, and Sufi 'Abd-al-Raḥmān Nūr al-Dī "Jāmī" (d. 898 A.H., 1492 C.E.). The present manuscript was copied at Rashīdabād by by Sayyid 'Iwaz̤ Shamsābādī.
