Scope and Contents

A collection of leaflets, newspaper cuttings and letters relating to the Vivisection and Research Defence Society, 1922-1929. The objects contained in this folder include;

Leaflets from the Research Defence Society including an article titled "Animals and Research", "Lord Lister's Evidence Before the Royal Commission on Vivisection", "Refutations", "Fight Against Disease - the Home Office Report", "Animal Experimentation and Knowledge", "Research or Suffering?", "What Animals Owe to Experimental Research", "What we owe to the Experiments on Dogs", "Lord Lister's Letter to Queen Victoria - The Voice of Authority", and "The Practitioner's Dept to Research".

A letter to the Editor of the Pharmaceutical Journal in response to letters from "R.K.S" published in the journal, speaking out against vivisection, 2nd October 1922

Handwritten and printed notes in response to anti-vivisection opinions.
