Details captured in this volume include; the date of arrival, reception number, name, number, sex, how acquired, date and method of departure, and remarks.

As this volume includes the WWII years, there are documented accounts of their venomous animals being put down, due to the danger of escape during air-raids. The Edinburgh Zoo complex in Corstophine was hit by bombs on two occasions early in the war.
