Letter of introduction from David Maclean, Agent to the Queen, Nova Scotia. List of 'fossils sent for Mr. Lyell' notes 'found 6 feet below surface probably conveyed from St Croix Windsor'. Letter from Webster listing contents of boxes sent to Great Exhibition, 29th March 1851. Letter from Webster stating he was unable to obtain hail mark specimens, but had found marks made by a mud turtle, with details and drawing, having laid the paper on the tracks and then gone over in ink.
