Franz Altheim (1898-1976), historian, collection of 13 Typewritten Letters Signed, Autograph Letters Signed and Autograph Postcards Signed.

13 letters, including:
- Letter 1: 20 May 193[]. Altheim thanks a colleague for his letter and promises to send him the second volume of Altheim's book on Roman religion.
- Letter 2: 14 December [)]0. Altheim thanks a colleague for sending him his book. He mentions having adopted his student, Frau Stiehl.
- Letter 3: 21 June 1932. Altheim thanks a colleague for sending him his book. He announces a new volume of the journal "Frankfurter Studien zur Religion und Kultur der Antike".
- Letter 4: 28 August 1955. Altheim thanks a colleague for sending him his two articles. He recommends his own work on the history of Asia and Alexander the Great.
- Letter 5: 20 January 1956. Altheim thanks Fritz Schachermeyr for sending him his book and praises it, in form and content.
- Letter 6: 03 February 1956. Altheim thanks a colleague for sending him his article on Alexander. He praises the colleague for disagreeing with the conclusions of Tarn.
- Letter 7: 17 April 1956. Altheim thanks a colleague for reviewing his article "Alexander und Asien" positively.
- Letter 8: 04 October 1958. A letter of thanks to Fritz Schachermeyr for letting Altheim visit him in Vienna despite Schachermeyr being about to travel to Thessaly.
- Letter 9: 02 August 1960. Altheim praises a review by Schachermeyr of a book by Cassola, and announces travel plans to the Orient.
- Letter 10: 23 September 1960. Altheim thanks Schachermeyr for asking him to review Schachermeyr's new book.
- Letter 11: 18 June 1962. Reply to Schachermeyr, who had thanked Altheim for his review of Schachermeyr's book.
- Letter 12: A copy of a letter from Manfred Mayrhofer to Fritz Schachermeyr. He describes trying to find a job for a student of his, Göbl, who is very promising in his eyes. He mentions having corresponded with Altheim about the Surkh-Kotal-Inscription. A copy of the same letter is included in Coll-2106/47.
- Letter 13: 29 January 1973. Altheim thanks a colleague for sending him his biography of Alexander and praises it in detail.

Notes by Alfred Stumpff: Biographical information about all parties mentioned in the letters. Stumpff letters 1 and 2 and notes where he bought them. He also notes that 10 letters were from the estate of Fritz Schachermeyr, historian. The collection from the Schachermeyr estate also includes a copy of a letter to Schachermeyr from Manfrey Mayrhofer which mentions Altheim.
