Ambala (Northern India), British officer stationed there, letter to his wife, 4 January 1857. British officer James Young writes to his wife, Jessie. He describes his daily life and the difficulties he is facing. He notes the consecration of St Paul's church in Ambala, which took place the same day he wrote this letter.
