Letter: 11 April 1944. Leopold Amery writes to politician Sir John Anderson to inform him that the Maharaja of Kashmir, whose relationship with India has been tense for several years, will be visiting the India Office at Whitehall soon. Amery asks Anderson to make him feel welcome and attaches a note with further information about the war effort in Kashmir.
Attachment to letter: a typewritten note summarising the war effort in Kashmir, mentioning in particular the siege of Koron, the walnut and silk industry, and the role of the Maharani of Kashmir in the war effort.
Note: note sent to Anderson telling him that the Maharaja had arrived as of 11 am. Signed by Anderson.
