Letter: A 1898 letter from Major William Broadfoot to Mr Forbes, on the subject of Major General Kinloch's pamphlet. The pamphlet is Kinloch's rebuttal of accusations by Sir Robert Low that he 'lacked nerve' during the Chitral Relief Mission. In the letter, Broadfoot says he does not see the use of this pamphlet, and describes his own view of Kinloch's failed role in the Mission.
Pamphlet: A copy of the supplementary notes to Kinloch's original pamphlet is enclosed. Inside is Kinloch's response to the accusations and a record of the events as he experienced them.
Notes by Alfred Stumpff: Biographical about the letter as well as information about Broadfoot and Kinloch. Included is a short summary of the Chitral Relief Mission.
