Angelo De Gubernatis (1840-1913), oriental scholar, 2 Autograph Letters Signed.
3 Letters.
- Letter 1: 1 October, year unknown - possibly 1885. Gubernatis writes about a payment the addressee owes him for the sale of 400 Sanskrit manuscripts which he acquired during a trip to India. He had given some of the manuscripts to the National Library of Florence. He also speaks of his intention to open a public museum with his findings on his return to Italy.
- Letter 2: 12 August 1912. Letter concerning the approaching International Peace Congress due to take place in Geneva. Gubernatis debates whether he will attend in the face of growing European instability.
- Letter 3: 29 October 1912. Gubernatis writes to the author of an article published in the Journal de Geneve about the tensions which led to WW1. He congratulates and compliments the addressee on his article.
