1 Letter
- 2 February 1811, Antwerp. Dense, eight-page letter addressed to Count Launjuinais. Schweighaeuser sends compliments to the Count and gives him some updates on his recent work. He also describes his research into ancient Persian religion based on the Zend Avesta texts and the memoirs of Anquetil-Duperron. This research has convinced him that there is a strong relationship between Persian and Indian religious thought. He then comments on works by Colebrooke, Joinville, Brucker, Bentley, Ascerblad, Wilfond, Zoëya and Father Paulin. He discusses evidence of the Great Flood and linguistic questions which arise from it. He proposes a scientific classification system and asks the Count a few questions on recent publications.
Notes by Alfred Stumpff: A description of the letter written in French with some pulled quotations. A note of source and cataloguing information.
