- Letter 1: 18 June 1865. Weber asks his cousin, a high-level government employee, to contact Philalethes (a pseudonym of Johann, King of Saxony, used when he translated Dante's Divine Comedy. He wishes him to take part in a call for papers as an academic, not as a king, and asks his cousin to help in approaching him thus. Weber also relates family gossip.
