1 folder: Letter, typescript, from Irene Young to Mr. John Major (UK Prime Minister), on the matter of a tribunal judgement, 9 April 1994. Irene expresses concern about payments to former servicewomen dismissed on grounds of pregnancy, namely, the case of the hearing of the Glasgow tribunal's judgment in favour of Mrs. Helen Homewood in her claim for compensation on grounds of sex discrimination. Irene also expresses concern about war widows and war pensions received.
There is also a typed response from Miss Lucy Miller of the Political Office, sent on 5th May 1994. In the letter, Miller outlines government policies concerning servicewomen who become pregnant and also payments made available to those who were wounded or widowed in the service of the country and basic war disability pension.
