Scope and Contents

This file contains the correspondence between Dr Jean Ika Feigelson and Irene J. Young. Dr Feigelson was a medical student, and later a physician, met by Irene J. Young in Paris in 1946. A description, written by Iain Gordon Brown in the file reads (extract): "Dr Jean Ika Feigelson and Irene met in Paris in 1946. She had gone there to see if she could find any information about the fate of her missing husband. Ika, a young medical student with a very distinguished war record, first in the resistance and then in the Free French army, helped her. They remained friends for life. ...Ika became an eminent physician. He died on 1 February 2017... He was an Officier de la Legion d'Honneur."
