Biographical / Historical

Broughton Knowe farm in the Scottish Borders, six miles south of Blythbank, was occupied by ABRO in November 1950. It primarily housed sheep for a variety of studies, including comparisons of breeds of sheep as sires to cross-bred ewes and as sires of fat lambs. Some cattle were also housed there in a commercial manner to provide material for embryo transfer studies.
