Biographical / Historical

Mountmarle, a farm six miles south of Edinburgh near the village of Roslin, was taken over by ABRO for use as a pig station in 1947. In 1950, a Field Laboratory was built adjacent to Mountmarle, permitting the application to farm animals, predominantly sheep, of more controlled research techniques than those feasible under extensive farm conditions.

Extent

From the Sub-Fonds: 7.5 linear metres (56 'A' boxes)
