Biographical / Historical
Roslin Institute's change of status on 01 April 1995 from a wholly-owned BBSRC Institute to a Company Limited by Guarantee required it to have a Governing Council in the place of the former Directors' Advisory Board. Members were nominated by BBSRC and in legal terms were Directors of the Company. The Governing Council met twice a year.
