Biographical / Historical
While posted with the British Army in India, during World War II, Percy Johnson-Marshall was General Secretary to the Service Arts and Technical Organization (SATO) from 1943 until his repatriation in 1945. One of his duties was liaison with other appropriate bodies such as the Association of Building Technicians and the School of Planning and Research for Regional Development. He also liaised with army personnel posted in other world regions who were either affiliated or considering setting up affiliation organisations to SATO
