Biographical / Historical

James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell was a Scottish nobleman who was one of the accused in the plot to murder Lord Darnley. He also abducted and subsequently married Mary, Queen of Scots. He spent his final years as a prisoner in Dragsholm Castle, Denmark, where he died in 1578.
