Beale's papers were originally held in box files. They have been loosely arranged according to subject and type, although original box file contents have not been altered. Papers are arranged in chronological order within series and reverse chronological order within folders.

A preliminary box listing of this material was conducted by archivist Judith Etherton as part of a scoping project in July 2012.

Biographical material relating to Henrik Kacser (Coll-1255/7/11) included here was formerly part of the collection Coll-1288.
