- 15 notebooks containing mainly lecture notes, essays, etc., that belonged to Evan Whyte Melville Balfour-Melville, ca 1910-1962.
 - Diary of James Balfour-Melville of Strathkinness, 1856-1862, and record book of the Ramornie Golf Club, 1843-1867.
 - Red covered notebook containing 'Observations on tour through Italy', September-December 1817, by John Whyte-Melville of Strathkinness.
 - Diary with lock of Mary Louisa Dundas, afterwards Mrs J. H. Balfour-Melville, 1866-1869.
