Scope and Contents
This is a press-cutting album containing a large number of Theatre Royal playbills, covering the years 1825 to 1848. Each of the 35 (thirty-five) itemised playbills bears the printed heading Theatre Royal Edinburgh.

Condition Description
Album in poor condition. Lacks lower board; upper board detached.
The vast majority of this collection comprises fine originals tack-glued on four corners, one to a page. All are in good condition with the exception of N.144, which is loose and has parts of the border missing, but none of the text.

Custodial History
On the first page there are a pencil note inside reading "16-B27. 1 of 5 vols. This No5", and a stamp reading "From the library of Arthur W. J. G. Ord-Hume".
Inside was a loose note entitled "The Ord-Hume Library of Mechanical Music & Horology" by a "J. D. O-H". The note indicate that this volume was part of a set of five, which were acquired in "L[ow]ther's, Chiswick, July 1949".
The volume used to be a botanical album. Captions and leaves' outlines are sometimes still visible.
