Biographical / Historical

Stanley finished his medical studies at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 1919. He was Professor of medicine at the University of Edinburgh from 1938 to 1959.

From the old accession register: "a note states 'with the compliments of D. Ferrier, bookseller', but not the donor, at least to EUL".

Accession numbers: E60/19, D.18062

Accessioned in 1960.

Includes a business card for Donald Ferrier, 8-10, 18 Teviot Place, Edinburgh, a medical bookseller. A pencilled note dated 7.6.60 stated that a previous librarian rang Ferrier about these notes, but that they knew nothing and were not interested.
