Biographical / Historical

Alexander Hepburn was the son of the parson of Oldhamstocks. He studied at the University of Edinburgh. Hepburn was elected as first a Regent of the University in 1625 - Regent of Humanities - then a Professor of Philosophy in 1631. He retired from office in 1644.
