Scope and Contents
This collection consists of an academic medal and suffragist badges and pins belonging to Margaret Ida Balfour (1866-1945), a Scottish medical doctor and early campaigner for women's medical issues in Great Britain and India.
- Silver medal awarded to Margaret Ida Balfour by the Medical College for Women, Edinburgh, for the "Practice of Medicine", "R. W. Philip M.D., F.R.C.P.E. Lecturer", session 1889-1890;
- Two National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies metal pins (red, green and white);
- Metal pin in the shape of a "W", with a crown above it;
- Openable locket with intertwined initials.
