Scope and Contents
This fonds consists of five documents relating to Thomas Cleghorn, merchant and baillie of Edinburgh, one document relating to Thomas Cleghorn, advocate, and one document relating to David Cleghorn.
- Burgess ticket of Crail in favour of Thomas Cleghorn. 17 September 1765. Wants seal.
- Burgess ticket of Lanark in favour of Thomas Cleghorn. 11 May 1778. Wants seal.
- Burgess ticket of Musselburgh in favour of Thomas Cleghorn. 11 April 1778. Wax seal.
- Gildbrother ticket of Edinburgh in favour of Thomas Cleghorn. 10 April 1765.
- Constitution of Thomas Cleghorn to be Inspector General of Exports and Imports in Scotland 12 December 1783.
- Note on an insurance policy of David Cleghorn "on his own life, be not vacated by the said M. Cleghorn, dying upon the Seas in his passage from Great Britain to the Netherlands, or on his return from thence to Great Britain", 21 August 1822.
- Diploma of the Speculative Society, Edinburgh, admitting Thomas Cleghorn, advocate., on an Honorary Member. 25 March 1845. Signed: "Archibaldus T. Boyle" and "Jacobus Mackonochie". Wax seal in metal case.
