  1. Comission by Queen Victoria under the Privy Seal of Scotland, appointing D. M. Masson to be Professor of Rhetoric and English Literature in the University of Edinburgh. 14 October 1865.
  2. Burgess ticket of Wick in favour of Professor D. M. Masson. 6 September 1898.
