Scope and Contents Manuscript pocket-diary of Charles Ross of Greenlaw, a Scottish surveyor, architect, farmer, nurseryman and gardener near Paisley, with daily weather readings and notes of his activities and health from 1 January 1795 to 27 June 1805. The diary contains some illustrations. Charles Ross was at the forefront of the Agricultural Revolution in South-West Scotland in the second half of the 18th century. Scope and Contents

Two manuscript volumes on Scottish law. The first one reads 'Treatise on Bills, [written] by John Mein Writer to the Signet'. The manuscript dates from c. 1740 and bears the ink ownership signature of Henry Home, later Lord Kames (1696-1782). The second manuscript just starts with the word 'Case' and describes a series of cases dating from 1760s-1810s.
