Biographical / Historical

Founded in 1793 as the Edinburgh Asylum for the Relief of the Indigent and Industrious Blind, it was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1898. The organisation is now known as Royal Blind operating four distinct services for the blind including the Royal Blind School. Management is the responsibility of a Board of Directors.
