Scope and Contents
Contains notes on a training meeting held 21/01/1979 which discusses silent calls, masturbatory calls, confidentiality, code of conduct and the compilation of call cards.
Also includes: list of questions relating to Friend which appear to be questions asked of members or prospective members; a questionnaire used to assess if someone will be accepted as a member of the Befriending Team or if they require more information about certain subjects; advice to Befrienders on answering calls and the operation of the service; notes for people on probation; an information sheet on "transsexualism"; and the code of conduct for Befrienders.
Note: "transsexualism" is the term used as the heading of the record and has note been chosen by the archivist to describe this work. This term refers to an individual's identification with a gender inconsistent with or not culturally associated with their assigned sex and may be considered outdated.
