Biographical / Historical
Friend was established in 1974 and was a voluntary befriending and information organisation for gay and bisexual men and women. It provided information on homosexuality and on social spaces available for the gay community. It also provided social support for people coming to terms with their sexuality and help integrating in to the gay social scene.
