Scope and Contents

Labour's inquiry into the suicide of Gordon McMaster is widened to examine issues with the party in Renfrewshire. Evidence of factionalism, membership irregularities, and links with organised crime have all been alleged. One anonymous party member claimed the worst of these issues had already been addressed. There are internal issues on the council where McMaster had served - Jim Mitchell, the SNP deputy leader on the council where McMaster served, wants the name of the person accused of writing a poison pen letter to McMaster, but this has been painted as partisan by others in the council.
