Dutch homosexuals fight for right to donate blood (The Scotsman), 8 Aug 1997

 Item
Identifier: GD61/11/2/1/19

Scope and Contents

Dutch gay people have been advocating for a change in the guidelines as to who is allowed to donate blood, as the current rules bar gay men. They argue that guidelines should be focused on high-risk behaviour, not on the basis of sexuality itself. The transfusion service has not been willing to change its guidelines.
