Queerbashing in Edinburgh's Gay Village, Feb 1998
piece
Identifier: GD61/11/2/2/26/1
Scope and Contents
Six men aged 16-17 arrested for attempted murder following violent attacks on five men in Leith Street, Royal Terrace and Calton Terrace, Edinburgh. Not all victims of the attacks were gay, but reporter Kenneth James McGowan and Lothian and Borders Police have reason to believe homophobia fuelled the attacks due to the popular use of these sites for cruising.
