The Consultative appears to have developed from the Staff News Bulletin. It begins as a duplicated typescript, A4 size, and in 1966 becomes smaller, with a stiff, illustrated cover. Publication of The Consultative, the group magazine of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Associated Hospitals, was discontinued with the dissolution of the Board of Management in 1974. A staff magazine for the Infirmary continued in the form of Royal Roundabout (LHB 1/70/39).
