Biographical / Historical
Working groups were established to focus on the growing drug problem in Edinburgh and the Lothians, since one of the main reasons that the HIV virus spread so quickly was a rise in intravenous drug users sharing needles. In these groups, the HIV/AIDS Management Team worked closely with organisations connected to drug misuse.
