Biographical / Historical
The Church of Scotland Centenary Project was founded in 1987 to work with sex workers with drug problems. It led to the formation of SHIVA, an organisation established to provide help and support to Scottish sex workers.
SCOT-PEP was a sex worker-led charity founded in 1989 as a health and welfare service provider, funded by Lothian Health Board. Following withdrawal funding in 2009, SCOT-PEP campaigned on the decriminalisation of sex work, advocating for the safety, rights, and health of people who sell sex in Scotland.
