Scope and Contents
Composite volume, part of a larger book. 24 numbered vellum pages. One cramped but neat hand throughout, with script smaller in 1.5.2 and 1.5.3 than in 1.5.1. Written space 200 x 135mm, 42 lines per page. Initials are c.3 lines, with combinations of blue and red ornaments. Rudimentary serpents decorate f.8v. Contains some manuscript notes in a second (16th Century?) hand.
Plain yet bright vellum binding over boards. Written in France by Richard Pesloe. Cutting from English bookseller's catalogue pasted to inside front board, attributes 1.5.1 to St. Augustine.
1.5.1a ff.1-22v: 'De tripartita domo dei'. Nolite attendere fratres mei quid uobis promittit mondus iste. Set quid promittit conditor mondi... Mori uolunt set mori non possunt. Explicit liber.
1.5.1b f.22v-23v: de tripartita domo dei. domus dei non inproprie neque abusiue... non gule set cordis.
1.5.1c f.23v: audi illud. De trinitate que deus est. Sicut in sole tria sunt inseparabilia ... illa magnificentia sublimis dei. Tu autem domine miserere nostri. Ricardus pesloe scriptsit hunc librum.
1.5.2 ff.23v-24v: Hec est oratio dominica. Oratio dominica. Hec oratio habetur in xviii capitulo mathei et in xx tertio capitulo luce... ne induci nos permitas.
1.5.3 f.24v: Presbiter debet mungi casya. cinamomo. calamo. mirra. oleo. per casyam... peruertat. dominus ut (imperfect). A series of sententiae.
