Scope and Contents
Manuscript titled, 'History of the Church of Scotland from the earliest dawning of the light of the Gospel after the Apostles time to the year 1688, by Matthew Crawford, with life of the author.'
Included in front of the first volume is a note attributed to David Laing and a note about the purchase of the volumes by the General Assembly in 1737.
Two published pamphlets have been bound into the manuscript:
The propositions presented to His Majestie at Newcastle, the 24 day of July 1646. Edinburgh: Evan Tyler, 1646.
A declaration by the Kings Majesty to his subjects of the kingdomes of Scotland, England, and Ireland. Edinburgh: Evan Tyler, 1650.
Both volumes bound in leather with the stamp of the General Assembly Library.
