Manuscript volume on a legal case.
Title reads:
"Decreet of Declarator [etc.] Mr. Archibald MacAulay Minister of the Gospel at South Queensferry against the Magistrates, heritors, [and] other inhabitants of the said burgh."
Volume is dated 9 May 1767, and is signed by Alexander Pierie, Jas. Pringle [scribe] and John Callender.
The case appears to concern the non-payment of the minister's stipend
Several items are laid in, including a note signed by Archibald MacAulay on 18 February 1768 requesting that the values of the houses in the area are reviewed, and also a note regarding the volume's donation in 1959.
