Lecture notes taken by John McLeish at St Salvator's College, St Andrews University, 1702 - 1703.

The text is in Latin. The hand is a clear italic, with numerous secretary features.

Quarto notebook with leather binding, stamped I M on front and back covers with a fleur-de-lis -esque icon.

The end boards and end papers feature numerous pen trials and signatures of 'Iohn McLiesh' and 'Johannes McLiesh'. McLeish also writes short maxims and phrases, and practices writing in several styles.

The first section is titled 'Introductio ad logicam', and is dated 1702. It spans 86 numbered pages.

The second section is titled 'Exercitationes pneumaticae', and is dated 1703. It spans 44 unnumbered pages.
