Front flyleaf inscription reads:

'Presented to the Library in connection with the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland by J. M. Steven. George Heriot's Hospital, Edinburgh, 25 May 1840'

Leather bound quarto volume, with gold tooling embossed stamp on both boards.
