Item 2: 2: A series of official letters, addressed to numerous recipients and signed by multiple authors. Notable agents include Oliver Cromwell, "General Monk [George Monck, 1st Duke of Albemarle], "the Lord Burgley" [potentially John Cecil, 1628-1678?] and Robert Douglas [Moderator of the Church of Scotland, upon the outcome of the Battle of Naseby, 1645]. Spans 52 numbered entries (pp.711-764). Many agents are yet to be indentified, due to titular addresses such as 'Right Reverend', 'Reverend Brethren' and 'Gentlemen'.

Item 3: A series of printed proclamations and other official papers. 1644-1710. Spans 61 numbered entries (numbered 764-825). Many entries are single pages, but some are up to 11 pages in length. Numerous entries are annotated.

Item 4: Manuscript copy of a proclamation by the Synod of Lothian, 4 May 1703, recommending that several local ministers and probationers are commended and involved in reform due to their history of good work and speech. Single folio.

Items 1 and 2 are paginated in a standard way. Item 3 is paginated in pencil with one number per entry, and longer printed texts have their own pagination. Item 4 is a single folio. The volume has c.900 pages total. From the General Assembly Library.
