Scope and Contents
Manuscript titled, 'Triumphant rays of divine providence in the wonderfull displays of the wisdom power and goodness of God manifested in making mercy rejoice over judgement in favour of Eben-Ezer, under all his tryals, to give him a way of escape that he might be able to bear it...Written for private use, Anno 1727 finished.'
This was later published as James Nisbet's autobiography, 'Private life of the persecuted, or, memoirs of the first years of James Nisbet, one of the Scottish Covenanters,' published in Edinburgh, 1827.
Bound in vellum with blind tooling to front and rear boards.
