Sermons of John Owen (1616-1683), puritan theologian
Scope and Contents
Manuscript copy of sermons preached by Owen between 1669 and 1676. An inscription on the front flyleaf says that these notes were taken in short hand by Sir John Harlopp, and later transcribed by him into long hand and bound by is granddaughter, Eliza Cooke, Newington, 1755.
Contains a table of contents and lists the following sermons:

Various items interleaved in the volume, such as parchment with postal stamps dated 1853, and the name and address of Rev W.H. Goold; a list of works by Owen; pages from a printed volume, presummably Owen's sermons; printed pages from Virgil's Georgics and Eclogues; printed pamphlet about the published works of John Owen, edited by Rev Dr W.H. Goold.
Volume bound in leather with a dust jacket of green baize.
