Scope and Contents
Bound manuscript copy of Sefer Behinat ha-'olam by Jedaiah ben Abraham, called Bedershi or Bedersi, written in Krakow, Poland, in 1782. The English title is the Book of the Examination of the World. Notes affixed to the cover by Rev Prof Oliver Shaw Rankin, Chair of Old Testament Language, Literature and Theology at Edinburgh University give background information on 'Bedarshi' and note that a copy of a poem, entitled 'Bakkashath ham-Memim' ['Request of the Mems] is included in the book with a comentary by Joseph Francis.
