Scope and Contents This collection consists of 123 silver gelatin photographs documenting the construction of the Lochaber Water Project (also known as the Lochaber hydroelectric scheme). The photographs date from 1925 to 1930, although the scheme itself was built between 1924 and 1943. The photographs are divided in three groups, and most are dated and annotated. Scope and Contents

The album had been in the possession of the Earl of Cawdor (John Frederick). It is dated 1859. The album is composed of photographic art reproduced on salted paper. Eight images are maritime in nature - vessels at sea - with waves and sails coloured in bluish / greyish tint, and are of drawings done by Willem Van de Velde the Younger (1633-1707).

The collection consists of photographs, negatives and lantern slides (3 slides only) showing the hospital at Ama Achara, patients and staff, missionaries, church workers, other areas in Eastern Nigeria including Calabar, and mission work in general; most of the photographs are from the 1920s-mid 1940s but there are some earlier ones of Mary Slessor; and there is also a printed article on the hospital (1937).
